Our Programs

Get skating with Skate Canada's official "Learn to Skate" program.

Pre-CanSkate

Level:
New skaters age 3-5, trying skating for the first time. Must be at least 3 years old by December 31, 2026. 

October 19 to December 21, 
with option to extend to the end of season. 

Jr. CanSkate

Level:
CanSkate Badges 1 to 4. 

October 19 to March 1

Sr. CanSkate / Star 1

Level: 
CanSkate Badges 5 & 6, and Star 1.

September 14 to March 25

Intermediate & Sr. Stars

Level: 
Star 2 to 5

Meet our Coaches

Carrie Greig & Kylie Swindlehurst

Carrie is a NCCP certified Regional Coach, having coached for 30 years. She has been with the Durham Skating Club since 2004.

Kylie has skated with the Durham Skating Club for many years. In 2024, she returned as a NCCP certified CanSkate Coach. 

 

CanSkate Program Assistants

Many of our StarSkaters volunteer as Program Assistants in our CanSkate Program, teaching younger skaters valuable skills and making sure everyone has fun.

2025/26 Fundraisers

Fundraising is a mandatory requirement of those registered with the Club. If you do not wish to participate in fundraising, you can opt out by paying the Fundraising Opt Out Fee.
